My first solo flight

Posted on 2009-12-15 at 16:39 in PPL Privat Pilot License
As I wrote a long time ago I'm currently training for a PPL. A Private Pilot's License.

I simply have to fly something myself now. I can not stand sitting in the jumpseat watching the crews fly all the time, I want to fly! .-)

Anyway, I'm now halfway into my training and did my first solo flight this past weekend.
A truly fantastic feeling taking off on my own. Turning right into the traffic pattern, gazing into the sun and levelling off at 1000 feet for the downwind leg.

Looking down at the airport, seeing the empy seat next to me, fantastic!

I made a few touch-and-go's before landing and vacating the runway.

The tower congratulated me over the radio as I turned into taxiway B.

There's not much flying during the swedish winter, but I'm so looking forward to spring and the better weather and longer days!

I'll keep you all updated as it progresses!

Congratulations!

Congrats on your first solo! Looks like a nice Cessna you're learning to fly in.. Is it a fairly newish aircraft? EFIS or analogue instruments? Most flying schools, at least in England, seem to normally have a fleet of really old, 20+ year old aircraft..

congrats!

Hi Just to FYI - the aircraft #21649 N149UA was painted in Tajik Air colors and is available at this site http://www.tajikair.com/ My father leased this aircraft from United Airlines in 1993 for the Tajik operation which flew scheduled air services from London Heathrow, to Dushanbe Tajikistan, and on to Delhi India, and Sharjah. This was the first western built wide-body airliner to be operated by a Russian State. He named the jet after the Tajikistan country''s prized wild animal, the Snow Leopard You are free to take the image from the site and edit to clean up or remove the wording. Please add it to your Photo Gallery. http://www.tajikair.com/ Thank you - Jon

Well done

You must be well proud of yourself. If you come to Orkney on an assignment you can hire the Flying Clubs plane G-BGVS, a C172 :)

Not long to go until you are set loose!

Take care

Neil

Congrats

After filming so many Just Planes videos you can probably teach your instructors a thing or two about flying. Congrats!
