...some of the later blog-reports (no-one mentioned - no-one hurt I stayed for a few days, but did not get one day of good weather, as it turned out! These shots were all taken on the 13th of March. Mind you, I don't usually whinge about the weather, but this time it was just a bit over the top. It was rainin' pretty much all the time, in combination with very low cloudbase. That equals to about; No light at all!!!
What's St. Maarten compared to this?!?!? Huh? ARN, July 20th.

Once again going through some ol' stuff.......A few neat pic's though! Since I had been loitering in the sim the whole night before, I didn't get my bum outside the door until about late'o'clock. It was a beautiful evening though.... I went to the gravel heaps on the northern side of RWY 26-08 and climbed on of the heaps to get a better view of the action! Started shooting while "enroute", as I couldn't really control myself! ;) ![]() Didn't get the reg:o on this one! Sorry! OH-LVF on the climb-out.Followed by Syrian, not too far behind.... YK-AKD departing in beautiful light.Austrian Arrows setting off. OE-LVNA Scandi F.L.U.F LN-RPU departing. As you can see, light can be a treat that time of year! LN-RPT...and to provide some alteration. Sterling came along! OY-MRHOnce I got to the gravel heaps, I couldn't resist climb them, to get a better view. ;) I know I probably shouldn't have,...but I just couldn't help myself..... This is the sad remains of what, not too long ago, was a Queen of the Skies. Operating for TransJet, before scandalous actions of Luftfartsinspektionens power-people, when decided they could do what they felt like....and just took TJ's AOC away. For no real reason. 3D-NEE (former SE-RBN)...its neighbour being the slightly more taken-care-of Caravelle. ![]() Then Airport Security in disguise (?) came around to check me out. Didn't have to show any ID though.... ;) ID unknown. Then the semi-heavy Ethiopian came rolling. I have said it before; I have a soft spot for the 757! ET-ALZFreighters began to wake up from their slumber.... N425UP A couple of night-guests.... Reg unknown.A Scandi swan thundering by.... Reg unknown. Then a little Ruski action.... SU-EAJFreighter bonanza! G-BRMA 's letting it rip! Some towing action... ![]() One last shot from this spot. ![]() On my way back to "home base" = Valsta, I stopped by 01L approach. A Pekka-bus on short, short final.Just beautiful, don't you think?! ![]() That's all for that night folks!! ARN, July 19th.

I know it's really lame to just show some old pic's, but right now I haven't got all that much new to show off. It's not very often I get to go to the airport nowadays..... I arrived early at ARN and went to see my buddy, working dayshift at the flight academy. We pre-flighted quite a few sims, and all in all it was a good day, that far. After a couple of hours doing that, I decided to drag my behind outside for some shooting. When I got to the approach end of RWY26 (the pallet site), there was this die-hard spotter there. He merrily told me that I had, by only a few minutes, missed not only IranAir's 747SP, but also a CX Cargo polished metal hull. Awwwh,....NUTS!!! ![]() OK, sorrows don't linger in my head, so I went for the flights coming in.... D-AHXD swooping in...and of course, when at ARN, you WILL get your fair share of Scandi F.L.U.F's! LN-RPA...and of course,...the "Pekka-buses" are no strangers either!! OH-LVD doin' a "one-pointer".Then it became time for a couple of heavies to arrive, so I decided to shift lenses. ...and something happened..... Not only did the Chicago flight have to go-around(to my liking, I might add), but something a bit less pleasant became evident...... Black lines started appearing on the pic's! Oooooh,....shoot!!! ![]() I knew, there and then, that this CANNOT be a good thing!! I was traumatized, my friends! Just give to give you an idea of how the majority of the pic's came out after this...... ![]() As you can see, they're not easily cloned out either!!! ![]() There I was, witnessing a heavy G/A, when my camera decides to turn its back on me!! The odd four-letter word did slip my lips, I might add. OY-KBN going around. This G/A was due to a F50 lingering on the runway, after having missed its exit. I'm still surprized that there were no headlines in the papers about it. -"Hundreds of passengers faced imminent death..." and tripe like that are not at all uncommon. Especially during the slow summer months..... Anyway,...after waiting a little while longer, Korean Cargo showed up. HL7448What a ship the 747 is! Huh?! Again, the majority of the shots of this "Queen of the Skies" got ruined by the cam-problems. It turned out to be a faulty electronics circuit, that in turn overloaded the sensor (which also caved in). So, on my first day in Sthlm, I was to be out of a camera! Nutters!!!! Typicall, I thought to myself, since I had opted not to bring the D1X as a back-up!! That turned out to be taken care of by Nikon Sweden. I got to borrow a replacement-D2X, for as long as they had mine in for service. Nikon took care of the problem though, free of charge, and replaced a lot of the internal electronics as well as the sensor. So,.....my hat goes off to Nikon!!!*bowing* You guys are a bunch of !!!!/ Ingo A loooong time ago....

I was going through some of my old(-ish) stuff the other day, and found to my pleasure that I had failed to "re-cycle" a lot of shots from a day in July -04. This was when my D70 was all brand new and the only lens I had, was the kit-lens (18-70). I went to Lidköping to hook up with some of the skydivers I know. Why? Well, because the HerculesBoogie-04 was going on! I used to be a skydiver-driver, in the para-club organizing this event, so I just had to show up one of the days. Load-time after a short stop for fuel and change of flight-crew. Last, group to leave the Herc has the shortest way back to the packing area.![]() ...and as you can see,.....not everyone has come to terms with the idea of "standing`n´landing"!!! ![]() This guy is doing the "high-speed turn-off" kinda thing.... ![]() ![]() He eventually ended up face-down in the grass, as I recall it!! ![]() While last group was still working their way back to the packing-area, the Herc is already on final! Holy smoke!!841 slowing down and takes aim to board another load of Skygods! ![]() ...and gets accompanied by SE-HPM on the way back into the load-up area. ![]() ...and so it was time for the next bunch of people to board. This time a "hot load", meaning loading while engines are still running. Eager Skygods about to embark on their trip to FL135.Turn-around times that would even make a RYR-skipper proud!! ![]() ![]() ..and back at Terra Firma again! ![]() Since I'm pretty used to watching skydivers, I decided to go see some other stuff....... This is inside the WestAir hangar at Hovby, where a couple of the old "ladies" were getting into shape again. Thanks a bunch!, to the Mx-guys who showed me around!! ![]() An oldie, but goodie! SE-LIE undergoing maintenance.Outside the hangar this old a/c is now serving as a shelter from the sun during breaks. ![]() There were other attractions as well...... ![]() ![]() ...not much, but something!! ![]() GSE July 4th

Wow,...I'm blogging two days in a row! Neat!..and as if that wasn't enough, it's about two days in a row!! Double-neat!! This was one of the evenings the mighty 757 was due to visit GSE. This doesn't happen very often, and is only due to runway-maintenance going on at GOT during a couple of weeks. I'm beginning to believe I've got a crush on the 7-5. Seriously,....every time I see one, I get this warm and fuzzy feeling. It's just one wicked piece of machinery!! ...and so it arrived! Hail thee, thou massive bird! How about them vortice-streaks, huh!?![]() As you might notice, there's a pretty big change in the sky. During these last 10 or so days, we have been "blessed" with rather unstable weather. But, as with everything else in life, there's two sides to this coin. Con's; Rain, that can ruin your day. Pro's; It can make for a pretty magnificient sky! Anyway, since I had some things to do = spend some money , I had to leave the airport for a while. Mr H.C kept the grounds while I was gone, so I didn't need to worry!I also kept harrassing J.M (who, for some weird reason, was airside for this occasion ) by phone, in order keep track of when it was supposed to leave again. After finishing my purchases, I dashed back to GSE again and made it with time to spare. This time I went to the departure end of RWY 19, where I met with this english bloke.......S.W. A rather un-expected arrival made him cheer..... ![]() SE-DSX about to flair. ...having turned around, set its sight on the apron. We didn't have to wait all too long, .... until it was time for the 757 to start rolling! Wopeee! They turned around, and came hurling down the runway! ![]() ...as you can see, it started rotating only half-way-ish down the runway!! This was a major set-back for me and S.W, as we had hoped for a longer take-off run. Impressive, nevertheless!! Off we go!A little moisture getting whopped up by the jet-blast. Yummy! Some gear-retraction-action goin' on!Aaaah, what a sight!!! A "Long legs `n´ big hooters" taking to the air. What a way to end the evening! A quick hop to GSE....July 3rd

...which turned out to be a wee bit longer than expected.I buckled up the boys in the car and went on my way, to catch the "Tuesday Action Hour" =three RYR-flights within a little more than one hour. (I know,...it might sound lame to all the guys/girls out there, who are living close to the bigger airports in EU. But trust me, around Gothenburg, this is as fun as it gets.) EI-DLL making its way to the threshold. This evening also had some very beautiful lighting and clouds, as the folllowing pic's will show. Beautiful light `n´ clouds and a not-so-beautiful plane, as this Do228 strolled in as a surprise-arrival. D-CAAM came buzzing. In between the RYR-arrivals, this guy came scooting overhead. Operator unknown. ![]() ...and then there was this one. Hmmm,....looks JAL. But I got to admit I'm slightly lost! ![]() Allthewhile the boyz were 'reakin' havoc in the car........almost tore it up, they did!! ![]() Rock`n´roll!! Dad's busy doing other things,...let's enjoy ourselves!! Who? Me!? Naaaah, me don't thinks sooo....After being hesitant about the CB hovering close to the 19-approach, EI-DLM opted for RWY 01. Nuts! That's the wrong way, when I'm by the 19-approach to take pic's!! ![]() ![]() By this time, the Barcelona-flight was ripe to move on back to whence it came. This proved to be somewhat of a challenge to the ATC-lady! ![]() Since she didn't instruct the Barcelona-flight to hold their position on the apron, the company-traffic from Madrid couldn't enter the apron because the Barcelonians where in the way. This situation had me and H.C chuckling a bit, I must admit. ![]() You or me first!?As it turned out, the Barcelonians had to track all the way down to the end of RWY 19, in order for the Madrid-guys to be able to enter the apron. ![]() The Barcelonians then had to back-track RWY 19 for the take-off! Imagine the extra fuel consumption, doing this!! Makes me think of Sybil Fawlty, when saying;-"...'e's from Barcelona!", regarding Manuel (the somewhat inept bell-boy at Fawlty Towers). Now we were waiting for the Stanstead flight to arrive. He turned out to be horribly late, and we almost gave up on him. Especially since the ambient light started to deterioate. So I started shooting at whatever I could get into the viewfinder, while there was still any light at all. Present company included! Sorry HC!! HC looking to the skies for answers. Where might he be!? (...the RYR-flight, that is!)HC got his revenge though, whilst he was "test-squeezing" my camera. Horrible what a 12mm lens can do to your looks. Innit!? ;DSorry about this de-railing...... But I'm gonna keep on doing it for one more pic! The "light-extraordinaire", this night offered. Sweet!!Back at ARN - Part Deux

Well, as some of you may recall, I made a promise to provide more pic's from a few days visit to ARN in Sept. -06....believe I mentioned something about a cliffhanger... I'll just keep it simple and stop rambling! First things first! A wicked 757 taking off in glorious morning light. Condensation,...mmmm...yummy!Then on to the so called "cliffhanger".... This was a magnificient sight and I'll just toss in a few of these.... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Bye, bye SE-RBF! There was lots of action this beautiful Saturday morning and I'm (again) to lazy, so I'll just show some of the goodies without a lot of "nerdy" comments. Somehow it's a bit more exciting to shooting at an airport where you know you won't have to wait for about an hour between arrivals! Dunno why,....it's just this feeling I've got.
Let's not be lengthy. I'll just fire away som pics...
LY-AZW on 9 mile final for 19R at ARN.
Showing off what's under them spoilers.
A F.L.U.F being pushed as we rolled in towards gate.
..and here she is, in all her glory, with two good starts. Pin has been shown, on the left side.
After this I decided to go for some afternoon spotting. When to the "pallet-site" by runway 08-26, eventhough I knew lighting wouldn't be superb.
As it turned out, the first thing getting shot at was a Pekka-bus heading for Helsinki (I think).
...and from here-on, I'll toss in a few pic's.....
There's plenty more, but.....since I'm feeling a bit lazy today.......
I'll be following up with some stuff I shot the following day (060916).... ...here's a little cliffhanger!
This was an aaaawesome sight!!!

Hi gang! It's been a while on my part... Family life/lots of work and all that, you know! Me and my eldest son took a day off from mom and the twins, to go see some aviators do their "thang". It was nice and all, although it could've been slightly less sunny/hot. I kid you not! It was bl**din' hot, and I looked like a boiled cray-fish, when the day was over and we headed back to Gothenburg. Kept the neighbours smiling for a day or two, and at least that's something isn't it!`
Now to the pics. Mostly backlit and a lot of heat-haze ruined the majortiy of the shots + the fact my converter had decided to go "tilt-shift" on me. Didn't realize until the other day what had been the problem!! Silly me!
Not the best shot I've taken, but the scene was pretty cool anyway!
Couldn't they have mowed the ferkin' lawn!?!?
The Flying Barrel!! Always a treat to see.
This is actually a Rolling Barrell, and not a belly-landing.
Aaaah, the Lansen Sport! Looks like a shark, doesn't it!? .....a little!?
The Draken - Pushing it!
It was a long time ago I heard the thunderous sound of a Viggen at T/O-thrust!! Yummy!!
After slamming onto the runway, going for max reverse!
Doing "turn-around" under its own power.
Here we go again. Fire in the hole!! (Check out them exhaust gases!!)
Mmmm, the sound that came from this display was awesome!
C-17 arriving and passing right over my head!
This is one massive bird!

Sick as a dog all day long from the previous nights sim-session, but I just had to get out.....
There are lots more to come, so I'll update it further as I get enough time to process them all. Which I'll probably never have, but it's the thought that matters,.....right!? Weekends...*sigh*

....are usually not intended for aviation-photography, since my wife runs a pretty "tight ship" and keeps me on a short leash. But, when aircrafts come sailing by overhead Utby (Gothenburg), there's not much she can do about it! Here are a few examples of what I saw this Saturday..... Birdseed 74-4, NE-bound, LT 16:47.
Then this guy came on counterheading. Feel free to identify... (LT 16:51) Who can this be!? Heading SW.
At LT 18:42, the next Speedbird came thundering on a NE-heading, although on a more northerly route. ...looks like this, a little bit more up-close....
Not much, I know,...but at least it's something!
A dull wednesday morning.....

...can actually be quite refreshing! But as usual; If I'm on time, the flight is early! So I had to hang around for the departure, to get some decent shots. D-AKNS' crew letting engines stabilize before going TOGA. Sent an SMS to JM about this rare visitor and got a four-letter-word as a reply! Ain't nothing like stiring up some sh*t on a wednesday morning!
Came back for a "quicky" on my lunch-break to find EI-CSV already empty! Some pre-flighting going on? Went to the approach lights for RWY19.... The "scare-crow"-car being chased off the runway! ;) Mind you, this was shot at about 600mm, althought it might look like I was close-up. I'm never close up to the business-end of any aircraft throttling up! When a jet like the 737 powers up, stones (and pieces of asphalt too, for that matter) can actually come flying with considerable speed. If you get hit by one, it might be "Game Over"for you, so please be careful when being close to aircrafts with engines running. If you're right behind an aircraft at T/O-power, make sure to keep at least a good 150 meters of space between you and the a/c!!
Left work early in the afternoon and found this F-27 being loaded on the ramp. D-AELK getting stuffed. Shot this pic with the rather unusual combo: Tokina12-24+Sigma 2X teleconvertor!
Left for a "front-row" seat by the threshold of RWY19.
Never seen this one at GSE before! After they took off, the medical guys took the runway. SierraX-rayCharlie lining up.
Immidiately followed by SE-RCI.
Hey guys! Was it you who "blew the whistle", maybe? ;) Anyway,..... By now I had a visitor..... Turned out to be the airport manager himself, as someone had concerns about me being where I was. He was an awfully nice chap! He gave me his business-card and offered to help out, should I ever want to do some ramp-shots. Really cool of him, since he could've told me to b*gger off, as I was on airport property. He hung around for a while, and together we watched this X-wind-struggle.... PF on EI-DAE had do some of that pilot-sh*t on this approach. :) ...which resulted in a smooth and nice flare! Sweet!! Good one!
By now I was about ready to pack things up and head for home! It was after all rather chilly and I was so hungry it felt like my head was spinning!!
Finally, to the pilot who was doing circuits in SE-IKF yesterday, 5-ish o'clock, I just want to say; Never let your speed drop!, and you're flaring wayyy too high! ;) Pitch`n´Speed, is what it's all about!! I promise I won't tell though.....
So long!

Started out early-ish, and met up with Tommy by the "horse-ranch" - Alleby. Tommy had his daughter with him and thus opted not climb the adjacent hill, that I had set out to do. Off I went! Soon enough Germanwings were on the go! D-AKNF rolling towards the runway.
Full steam ahead!
Rotate!
Positive rate; Gear up!
Gear doors are almost back in place.
I then hung around for the RYR morning fligth, which happened to be a little early! (Surprii-iize!;) Wind was kicking up and they had to work a little...
A little bit of wind correction, as you might notice!?
Firm touchdown followed by a decent amount of reverse thrust.
After this I left, and headed off for work. Decided I'd come on my lunch break. Lunch time came, and as planned I took to the airport. While I was setting myself up to get some wide-angle shots, a young couple with cameras showed up. Swedish guy, with Aussie girl. Nice couple! They came right on time for this...
EI-DAS on short final.
...and it seemed as though someone was a bit overwhelmed by the nearness of the 738!
Aint that just cute!? :)
She actually folded herself up quite nicely!,..as in the good ol' "Duck and cover"-manner! I must admit I cracked up, seeing this!!
Didn't stay for the T/O. I had a meeting to attend at work, so I just had to pack up and leave. Decided I'd be back for the afternoon flight though......
...and so I was!
EI-CSR coming in.
Went to see what was on the apron, and found....a Twotter!!
D-IVER
...who gladly took off from mid-runway!!
Which obviously worked out fine for them, since they rotated after only a couple of hundred meters!!
Also present was;
Then it was time for RYR to head on back to Frankfurt-Hahn again.. Didn't bother too much with it though!
Cars holding at the red-light while RYR is lining up.
All the while this guy was doing touch `n´go's;
SE-IKF enjoying itself in the pattern.
Well, that was about it for today!
Until next time,...Have a good one!

Hi all!
Well, I was aiming for the inbound Prestwick-flight and decided to be there early, so that I would have ample time to switch lens. I had set out to get a nice wide-angle shot of the 738 over the approach lights. I was 20 minutes ahead of schedule, but that didn't help much, since the flight was about 22 minutes early and already over the threshold when I still had some way to go. B*gger, b*gger, b*gger!!! As my camera needed the exercise, I went for a couple of tarmac shots. EI-DHC and S.L.F boarding.
Here's a PC12 Privately operated.
After this I went back to my office, since I had better things to do, but nevertheless took the time to go to Alleby for some t/o-shots. EI-DHC rolling for T/O. Lot's of bird activity around the runway today!
Up, up`n´away!
After this I headed back to my lab, but decided I go back to airport on my way home from work, to "nail" the afternoon flight from Frankfurt-Hahn.
Left work way ahead of the scheduled arrival and positioned myself by the approach lights for RWY19 with my 12-24 on. Waiting for that sweet shot. Arrival time for the flight came and went, when I for no reason at all took a quick glance over my shoulder,.....and there they where! Approaching the threshold of 01!!! (They probably opted for 01, due to the building CB's in the approach path to RWY19.) B*gger, b*gger, b*gger!!! Again! ...and there I was, stuck with a 12-24 on!! Oh well, I thought, and started marching towards the runway in order to at least get a couple of shots during the 180 for the backtrack. But,...misfortune strikes again!! He must've been at autobrake 3, or something. That, and what sounded like max reverse thrust, made this guy reach taxy speed by mid-runway and he leisurely took the left turn to the apron. (This was with a 10kt tailwind!!!) ...and there I was.....again,..stuck with a 12-24 on!!! Nuts!!
I was just idling by the approach lights, when I heard something.... A small jet! Hmmmm...
Thank you very much, N1852!!!
After this I decided to pack my stuff up and go home. When I got to the car, these "guys" came along and did a fly-by! Couldn't resist it,..had to get the camera out again. This time with the zoom on!
...packed up again! Suddenly I heard some sweet noice and saw that Lear on the go! Grab the camera and dashed to make it to the threshold before they would. This is not a very long distance to run, but my finess-level isn't exactly up to par, so I had some trouble holding the lens still!! ;) But I managed to get a couple of sharp shots of it! The F/O was a nice looking girl, by the way! N1852 lining up. ...and throttling up!
Bye, bye! I'd sure like to see that sweet-looking F/O around ESGP again!! ;)
I decided to hang around for the RYR Frankfurt-Hahn departure, and in the meantime I caught SE-KGS doing circuits.
Nice flare!
...and finally it was time for RYR to take the runway.
EI-DCF doing the 180 to line-up for departure RWY19. This pic gives a little perspective, to those unfamiliar with ESGP, of how close that road goes to the runway. I believe that little green car skipped the red-lights!! ;)
That's all for this time! Until next...; Simma lugnt!!
/ Ingo Friday morning at ESGP.

Well, after long, I'm about start this blogging-thingy. Let's see how it works out!
Snuck off from work today,...not much though. Just a sort of "extended break". Anyway,...Germanwings was already backtracking when I arrived. Annoying. Missed it by less than a couple of minutes! I cursed myself and turned the car around to at least get a couple of tarmac shots. As if things wasn't bad enough, it was raining cats&dogs! I just don't care that much for this kind of weather. I preferred it cold and crisp.
It had the Köln Bonn special livery, as you can see. English on one side, German/English on the other. There was also this Super-duper King that I couldn't get the reg of. German too by the way. As was this;
Granted, this is not, by far, the best pic I've taken but it just had to do on this occasion. It's a tail-shot anyway. ;) Went on to the other side of the terminal and got some more....
Operating for Gold Air Intnl. Then this little guy came along.
OY-TFT was the reg! Also present on this side, was SE-DVZ, but I didn't go through the trouble of taking a pic of it. Germanwings started cranking up their engines and I hopped in the car, and took off for the approach end of RWY19. After a few minutes wait they came a rolling.
Very cautious this guy!! Took him forever to make the turn to line-up! Eventually he got there and throttled up.
After this departure I decided to hang around a little while for RYR's morning arrival from Stanstead. He came, bang on time, and just barely made the minimums! Here they are breaking out of the "cloud"-deck.
Swooping by....
...and on to the flare...
All in all, not a bad 90 minutes (or so), eventhough weather was rather gloomy.
I sort of miss the clear and crisp days spent at GSE with the sun shining and the light wind biting my fingers. I'm pretty sure JM's remembering this occasion;
Severly backlit, but I just don't care! Me likes it anyways! ;)
EI-DLD's letting it rip.
...and then there was....
...OK-TVF wizzing by! Followed by a beautiful sunset departure!
On more than one of these occasions, accompanied by; The Man, the Myth, the Legend...
Spring will soon be here for real and that will give some more nice shots I hope! Without having to freeze my n*ts off! So I'll be looking forward to that! I'll promise not to be so lengthy next time I blogg!!
C' ya!!
