I had Monday off and decided to shoot the LAB 727 in better lighting conditions than I got her in last year. I headed over to Dulles and took position at the far end of D2L5. I met up with Rafal, who was on his lunch break. We killed LAB (I took 40 pictures of it), haha. :)

Air France arrived on 1L and served as a nice frame for this American mad-dog.

"Okay. We'll have a little race - Canadair to Canadair. You take Zulu and I'll take Yankee!"

How great is it to have these beauties flying around in 2007! :-)

And another picture. It was CP-1367...again. :)

In a word, the weather sucked. I was meeting up with some friends in Herndon later that evening, so I figured I'd stop by Dulles on my way for the Starjet 727, but this flight - like every other flight that afternoon - was delayed. Anyway, I only stayed for about 15 minutes. All flights were landing on 19R and departing off of 19L. The elusive HZ-HR3 was at Hawthorne, but was blocked by some bizjets.

SAS landed on 19R and kicked up a fair amount of snow with its reversers.

The two 727s that broke my heart, haha.

ANA being de-iced prior to departure. She was about six hours late at this point!

A Delta 752 vacating 19R following a rather shaky landing. Looks like this one was deiced at the departure airport.

And last, but not least, a cute little USA Jet DC-9-15 (N915US) arrived and parked right in front of the Saudi 727 at Hawthorne.

IAD - February 21, 2007

This warm February Wednesday yielded a couple of nice arrivals in the early afternoon, so without much debate, I headed out to Dulles. Brian was at the museum when I got there, also waiting for Comco, the Austrian albino Star Alliance bird and an unplanned Maxjet flight from JFK. There's nothing quite like sitting in the car, windows and sunroof open, a warm breeze and watching heavies cruise by one after the other. Anyway, some shots to share with you all..

As I had predicted, Maxjet sent in their hybrid (N251MY). I actually like this scheme more than the regular one. :)

Austrian sent in one of their Star Alliance 763s, OE-LAZ. Now I just need the other one.

Of course Comco had to send their bird in on 1L, so this is the best shot I could get of it (out of my car window no less, haha).  It was N610G.

Well, so much for my first entry. More will follow soon! :)
