Another day in paradise (aka Kirkwall Airport)

New Dawn, new visitor

When I review what I have written, I have referred to the weather as being awful so I thought I would show you how beautiful it can be. This was yesterday morning around 0730.  The plane is secondary in this pic but for your information it is G-LGNK.

Earlier today we had our first visit this year from Netjets.  We were expecting a Citation 550 but it ended up being a Raytheon Hawker 800XP.  Courtesy of the crew, I took some photographs for my library.  They kindly let me see inside the aircraft and to take a picture of the cockpit.  Shortly after they left to spend a night in Stockholm.  Many thanks for your assistance, much appreciated and we look forward to seeing you again at Kirkwall.

And finally the inside

We were informed today that Loganair and BA are to end the franchise following the sale of GB Airways to easyjet.  What this means to local; travellers is for the next year essentially there will be no change as Loganair has agreed to code share, that is use BA flight codes allowing you to book online at www.ba.com.  There will be no change to the air discount scheme.

Oh well...Netjets are everywhere, except where they should go...to homebase.

A stuning sky

Hi Mr. Neil.
I was yesterday talking to some Birmingham spotters, and they said NetJets planes were all over the UK. Apparently, Kirkwall airport isn't an exception :)
By the way, that really is stuning sky.
